2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly through our contact form, by phone, or by email, typically your name, address, postcode, phone number, email address, and details of the project you are enquiring about. When you visit the site we also collect standard analytics data (pages viewed, device type, approximate location) using privacy-respecting cookies.
3. How we use your information
We use your information solely to respond to your enquiry, arrange and carry out surveys and installations, manage warranties and after-care, and meet our legal and regulatory obligations as an MCS-accredited installer. We will never sell your data, and we will not share it with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Lawful basis
Under UK GDPR we process your information on the basis of (a) your consent when you submit an enquiry, (b) the performance of a contract once you instruct us to carry out work, and (c) our legitimate interest in maintaining accurate business records and protecting our warranty obligations.
5. Sharing your information
We share limited information with: MCS and our certifying bodies when required to register an installation; the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero where you apply for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant; our cloud service providers (email, accounting, CRM) under appropriate data processing agreements; and HMRC where required by law.
6. How long we keep it
Enquiry records are retained for 24 months. Installation, commissioning and warranty records are retained for the lifetime of the warranty (up to 12 years) plus 6 years to meet legal limitation periods. Anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these rights please email hello@bhl.direct. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
8. Cookies
We use only essential cookies required for the site to function and aggregated, privacy-respecting analytics cookies. No advertising cookies are set.

We store personal information using reputable UK and EU-based cloud providers with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. Access is restricted to named members of the team on a need-to-know basis.
